SWV PERFORMS ON THE MONIQUE SHOW

MY ALL TIME FAVORITE SWV PERFORMS ON THE MONIQUE SHOW! ‘010 IS LOOKING UP!

Coko – “The Winner In Me”

ONE OF MY FAVES COKO FORMERLY FROM SWV HAS A NEW MUSIC VIDEO OUT FROM HER NEW GOSPEL ALBUM. THE SONG IS ENTITLED “THE WINNER IN ME”, WHICH IS ALSO THE TITLE OF THE ALBUM. LOVE IT!

AND IN CASE YOU THOUGHT SWV DISAPPEARED….THIS IS A RECENT RENDITION OF ONE OF THEIR MOST POPULAR SONGS TO DATE “WEAK” A CAPELLA. THE GIRLS STILL GOT IT!!!! CAN’T WAIT FOR THAT NEW ALBUM!

“2010 IS SWV’S YEAR”

swvSWV is a female group started in the early ’90’s comprised of three ladies, Coko, LeLee, and Taj, who disbanded in 1999 but according to lead singer Coko, SWV will be in the studio starting next month and 2010 will be SWV’s year!!!!!! The diehard SWV fan I am, this is like the best news that i’ve got all year as far as music! I would pay to sit in on one of those stuido sessions. Coko in a recent interview on Atlanta’s V103 w/ Ricky Smiley, stated that back in the day the ladies were all young and didn’t realize how much they impacted music and felt as if the group got no love, and recently the group realized how wrong they were. What also shocked me is that Coko didn’t like her voice!!!!!!!!! WDUM*????, but she now realizes how powerful and unique it is. SWV is by far one of, if not, the best female trio’s to ever come out. Their harmonies have never been matched and is unique to only SWV.  Can’t wait till that first single!

SWV – Rain

We can’t forget the swag!

My Favorite Artists from the 90’s

I‘ma 80’s baby so I’m stuck in the 90’s when it comes to music lol. Here is a list of my favorite artists of the 90’s era.

Let’s kick *it* off with SWV

BLAME IT ON MY OLDER SISTER CRYSTAL!! I used to want to kill myself because all she used to listen to was SWV in the early to mid 90’s. As I got older I became hooked, the groups lead signer Coko has the most unique voice i’ve ever heard, and on top of that her range is impeccable . Around this time period is when all the fly girls had long nails and baggy clothes, i wonder if it’ll ever make a comeback…and I hope SWV makes a come back! Coko has a gospel album coming out in approx 2 hours lol “The Winner in Me”..i pre-ordered it on iTunes, I’m a fan lol.

Next is MONICA

monwordUP

Monica Arnold bka Monica hmm….what can i say about Monica, to me Monica not only epitomized beauty but her voice was bananas. Just the tone of her voice even when she came out when she was barely a teen surpassed most of the artists out. I remember having a couple Monica “Word Up” posters on my wall when i was younger. Monica’s still doing her thing and her future seems extremely bright. Good Luck Mo.

And I can’t stop this countdown without Foxy Brown

boogz

I drive everyone crazy with Fox Boogie Brown aka Inga Marchand bka Foxy Brown. Whenever someone sees that I have 146 Foxy Brown songs on my iTunes, they think i’m crazy lol. But to me Foxy was always “That Bitch”, not only was she Trini, but her whole swag was off the hook, and her flow topped it off. Arguably the illest female emcee to ever grace the mic. She was claimed by two of the illest emcees out Jay-Z and Nas. Foxy does seem to let her fans down a lot but I still ride cuz she did her thing and left her legend of good music and entertainment. We miss u boogs!

There is a couple more artists I can name but these are definitely my three favorite 90’s artists.
